Summit Climb Osorno Volcano

Summit Climb Osorno Volcano

Highly difficult activity that ascends to the summit of the iconic Osorno volcano, also called Peripillan by the Mapuche culture.

We will have a coordination meeting the day before: safety talk, papers and equipment. We leave at 03:30 am from Puerto Varas to start climbing at 05:00 am. From the mountain refuge at the base of the volcano, we head to the summit following a lava slope up to 2,100 meters. approx. At this place we will have to make a technical stop to equip ourselves with ice crampons, a harness and join a team to take the glacier route and then climb a 40° to 45° degree ice slope.

We will be able to appreciate the incredible landscapes of the Andes mountain range with Tronador Hill, Puntiagudo volcano, Casablanca volcano and Calbuco volcano; in addition Emeral, Llanquihue, Puyehue and Rupanco lakes. The Ascent of this volcano from its base has a total duration of 6 hours.
